The House
Care
A piece of obsidian is kept for a lifetime. A few habits keep it as it arrived.
- Obsidian
- Obsidian is natural glass. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. For marks, use a cloth barely dampened with water, then dry it. Avoid knocks against stone or metal, and sudden changes of temperature.
- Ash
- Let ash cool before emptying it. Rest a burning cigar on its rest, never against the polished surface.
- Metal
- Polished and plated metal keeps its finish best with a soft dry cloth. Avoid polishes and abrasive cleaners.
- Cedar
- Keep a humidor away from direct sun and heat. Season and humidify the cedar before the first use.
